Salt Lake City, Utah (PressExposure) March 12, 2012 -- In a move designed to help individuals strike a better balance between their personal commitments and school, Stevens-Henager College Online has introduced a K-12 tutoring service for the children of their students.
The program is specifically targeted at students with families, who have returned to school for career development.
Recognizing that these students may not always have the time and energy required for helping their children with their homework, the college has taken it upon itself to provide them assistance in this area.
The Tutoring Center at Stevens-Henager College will help the children of these students in five key academic areas-English, writing, math, American history, and basic computer skills. Tutoring is available for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade.
The tutoring service will be available to children for two hours every weekday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mountain Time. As the service picks up pace and more children start using it, the college will add extra hours and tutors as needed.
Many of the tutors offering their services to these children are or have been students of Stevens-Henager College Online in the past. Having been online students themselves, they are aware of the challenges that others like them face in fulfilling some of their parental duties while focusing on school.
The objective of starting this service is to help these students succeed in their coursework without overlooking their responsibility towards their children's education.
The Tutoring Center also offers regular tutoring for college courses, which allows parents and children to study together and can make the entire learning process a fun-filled exercise.
