Port Vila, Vanuatu (PressExposure) August 28, 2009 -- When Darius Chappill, 21, of Jefferson City, chose to bare it all on the Southwest Airlines Flight 947, he caused the airline to abandon its Oakland â St. Louis flight temporarily. Chapill had shown himself to the female passenger sitting next to him. The incident occurred just thirty minutes after takeoff.
When the passenger screamed Chappill hit her in the face, then proceeded to remove all his clothing. It took several crew members and other passengers to subdue him.
After an emergency landing in Oakland, a squad of 10Alameda County Deputies boarded the plane. They arrested and handcuffed the still undressed, but surprisingly docile Chappill.
Chappill and the female passenger were both treated at Oaklandâs Highland Hospital for minor injuries.
Sherriff Sgt. J.D Nelson, of Alameda County said "Chappill had an outstanding arrest warrant on drug-related charges in Jefferson city". In Missouri Chapill has a string of arrests. In March he was arrested for distributing marijuana. He had also been detained for driving without a license and under the influence of alcohol.
Passenger David Zabetakis said "It was easy to laugh about it afterwards, but during it, you don't realize how captive you are at 29,000 feet in a small airplane with such a big guy".
This was not the first commercial flight where a naked man caused a disruption.
Keith Wright, 50 years-old, undressed on Flight 705 travelling between Charlotte and Los Angele, on the 2nd July. The plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque.
Airport spokesman Dan Jiron said "Two off-duty law officers, who were on the flight, helped the flight attendants subdue and handcuff Wright".
Wright was escorted from the plane, only wrapped in an airline blanket. As the plane recommenced its flight, the usual declaration to fasten your seat belt, also included a reminder to everybody "To please keep your clothing on".
Wright will be charged with interfering with flight-crew members and attendants.
As nudity takes no a new dimension, women pole-dancers entertain subway travelers in New York, as the result of a $10,000 Internet dare. Another woman took thirty seconds to strip her clothes off in the subway. She then passed around a KFC bucket around for donations.
The photographer of 'Decent Exposures' , takes photos of nudes posing in popular areas such as Times Square and the underground of New York City. His photographs are displayed at Chair and the Maiden Gallery. Zach Hyman photographer said âThe trick is to get a few shots before the police get youâ.
In other parts of New York, pole-dancers are being towed around the streets, dancing on a neon-lit trailer, pulled along behind a motor bike. Their boast is, no nudity, no accidents, no arrests, just a lot of fun.
