Dubai, United Arab Emirates (PressExposure) June 21, 2010 -- The fourth edition of the national project "Summer of my Country 2010", jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development and the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare got underway across the UAE with the 51 participating centres reporting brisk registration for the various programmes.
The programme involves providing youngsters between the ages of 7 and 17 leisure, entertainment and educational opportunities during the summer holidays. The scheme has attracted active cooperation from a range of government and private institutions with the aim of promoting the cultural and moral development of the country's youth, as well as providing them a platform for creative development, while at the same time promoting a spirit of loyalty and national identity among them.
Mr. Khalifa Buamim, Head of the Information Committee of "Summer of my Country" and Director of Government Communications Department at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, said the Ministry supports the project and provides all facilities to make the event successful. Currently events are being held in around 51 centres across the country with sports, cultural, scientific and social activities on offer at all of them.
Buamim added that the project has received considerable interest from students who were keen to enroll for the various cultural and scientific activities, as well as specialised educational courses and workshops.
