Swing at the Lake Worth Playhouse

Delray Beach, Florida (PressExposure) December 10, 2009 -- What could be better than combining a gourmet dinner with a night out at the theatre? This New Year will find many swinging over to the Lake Worth Playhouse for the new Comedies, Dramas and Musicals. Each Sneak Preview offers the public the opportunity to be a part of the VIP Reception & Show, meeting & greeting the Cast, after the performance. There is also packages being offered opening nights with a combination gourmet dinner.

The year begins with unique shows and productions such as Swing, January 22 through February 7 2010, a Paul Kelly musical bringing back the sounds swing type jazz. Swing enjoyed 461 performances after opening on Broadway in 1999. It received a nomination for the 2000 Tony Award for Best Musical and other Tony awards. This show will rock the theatre combining high energy dancing and singing, for a re-creation of that time. There is even some hip hop with "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy " to really move the audience.

Though a hard act ot follow Swing will be followed brilliantly by Agatha Christie's murder mystery, The Mouse trap. The Mouse trap which was a Play with over 23,000 performances when shown in London, centers on strangers staying in a boarding house during a snow storm. One of them is the murderer. Sneak Preview evening is March 4th with shows beginning March 5 through March 21, 2010.

Then comes Andrew Lloyd Webber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from April 16, through may 2, 2010. As you may recall from bible stories Joseph was his fathers favorite. After being left in the desert by his jealous brothers he is sold into slavery. During his many adventures and challenges, while bringing his prophetic dreams into reality, he grows into one of the Bibles most incredible characters. Sneak Preview is the evening before the opening. May 1, 2010

The buzz is, Lake Worth Playhouse is planning to start the 2010 off with SWING 8N'T ALL to bring the New Year in the right way. Beginning with special guest Vocalist Roberta Rehner, who will be performing her popular sounds of Mack the Knife, Moonlight Serenade, New York, New York and more. There are still some tickets available. Serving Hors' D' oeuvres, Party Favors, and a Champagne Toast, this event takes place December 31st evening.
