Saint Louis, Missouri (PressExposure) October 24, 2013 -- It's official, evetos will be getting a new home! As you may have heard, the technology incubator T-REx has purchased a new building on Washington Avenue in downtown St. Louis. This means that the more than 70 startup companies within T-REx, our company included, will be relocating to the Lammert building.
T-REx, short for Technology Regional Entrepreneur Exchange, has been leasing affordable office space to fledgling technology based companies since September 2011.
Due to growth, T-REx has outgrown the large Railway Exchange Building that we are currently located in. By moving a few blocks over, T-REx will not only be able to provide current tenants with larger office space, but will also be able to add up to 50 additional startups to our community.
This large endeavor was made possible by U.S. Bank who is providing $1.7 Million in financing for the building purchase and improvements. A large portion of these improvements will be taking place on the 5th floor of the Lammert building which will act as the main lobby and shared workspace for T-REx.
Some plans for this floor include the addition of numerous conference rooms and work areas that will give tenants a nice place to hold meetings, meet with investors, and more. It can be described as a Shangri-La of shared workspace.
In addition to the 5th floor, T-REx will be using funds to make improvements to additional floors for tenants' office space. Most of these changes will be chosen by a board of current tenants who will represent the wants of our current T-REx community.
In a meeting held among the T-REx community yesterday, some tenants began tossing around ideas about how to work the tyrannosaurus rex that has become a sort of mascot for the community into the new building. A joke was made that the exterior of the building could be re-made to resemble a T-rex. In all seriousness though, the T-rex is a part of our community and in some shape, form, or fashion, its presence will be evident in the Lammert building.
With the new building, larger space, and some custom designs, the question of "how much will rent be?" came up. Though T-REx higher ups didn't have exact numbers, Directors of T-REx expressed the desire to continue to offer affordable office space to start up companies. They believe that rent prices will be around the same amount that they are now.
T-REx is planning to be completely moved into the Lammert building by March of 2014. All current tenants have been guaranteed space in the new building, but until the new move is made, it will be a little more difficult for new companies to move in.
It will be an exciting and busy next few months, but all of us here at evetos are excited about the new building and can't wait to move in!
