Tenants at Olive Grove Apartment in Fontana forced to live in squalor while the owner, Swaranjit "Mike" Nijjar, of PAMA Management, lives like a Slumlord Millionaire

Los Angeles, California (PressExposure) August 28, 2010 -- Nicole Carr and her mother have been a good tenants for more than 10 years. Carr is still waiting for her landlord to uphold its legal obligation to rid the complex of roaches and vermin and to fix all the broken things in her apartment. Her requests, however, are met with delay and retaliation from Nijjar and PAMA. Carr was illegally locked out of her apartment last October and has been served with three wrongful eviction cases in the past six months. She just received another one two weeks ago.

John Mittelman of the MITTELMAN LAW FIRM, and April Blackman of the BLACKMAN LAW FIRM have teamed up to defend and protect 24 of the Slumlord Millionaire's tenants from living in unsanitary and substandard conditions. They are defending several eviction cases and will later file lawsuits against Nijjar and PAMA to recover damages for their clients.

Mittelman has been practicing for 23 years, during which he has helped hundreds of clients to fight and win against some of the biggest corporations, insurance companies, hospitals, doctors and businesses in the United States. In a recent case, Mittelman sued a Hawaiian helicopter tour operator and a helicopter manufacturer after a crash on the island of Maui. All passengers survived and received six-figure settlements. Mittelman currently also represents a nurse who may have to undergo a liver transplant because her doctors (and the hospital where she works) botched a relatively simple operation to remove her gall bladder. Her bosses are now harassing and retaliating against her for filing a lawsuit. Her surgeon, Dr. Luis Philip Nugent, was arrested last year and convicted for driving under the influence of alcohol and controlled substances he prescribed for himself. He recently lost his license to practice medicine when it was discovered that he had been working at the hospital while drunk.

Blackman has practiced law for over 10 years. She believes that by striving to acquire the most favorable results for her clients she will be able to maintain and restore dignity to their lives and make an indelible, positive impact on society. This maxim was the impetus for April Blackman to initially decide to become an attorney. With years of trial experience under her belt and incredible negotiating skills, April has been able to gain the upper hand in her battles against the "Evil Insurance Empire" and has prevailed against injustice in family matters and other areas of law.

April has acquired settlements and judgments for her clients ranging from seven figures for a dog attack on a minor child, who was viciously attacked by a ravenous pit bull, to six figures for a motor cyclist who was cut off by a reckless driver. She has also done numerous family law cases and prides herself as a gentle mediator; her main goal in these matters is to amicably resolve marital disputes to save both parties from financial ruin.
