Orlando, Florida (PressExposure) November 12, 2009 -- Central Florida Lincoln Mercury introduces the 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid to you. This new generation hybrid vehicle from the Ford brand has one outstanding feature - you can now reach a speed of up to 47 mph in the electric mode! The engine is a new 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine running the Atkinson cycle mated to an electronically-controlled continuously variable transmission (e-CVT). The electric motor is powered by a smaller, lighter but more powerful nickel metal hydride battery pack. Ford has also improved the transition between the electric and gas modes, making it more seamless than the previous model.
A smart climate control system runs the gas engine only when required to heat the cabin, while the A/C works through an electric compressor. Ford has upgraded the driverâs interaction with the hybrid system with their new SmartGuage with EcoGuide. Two high resolution full color liquid crystal displays (LCD) on both sides of the speedometer can be configured to show various levels of information.
Several other factors distinguishes the Milan Hybrid from its gas-powered sibling, including distinctive hybrid vehicle exteriors; attractive 17-inch, eight-spoke wheels; eco-friendly seat fabric made from 100 percent recycled materials; and a standard 110-volt power outlet.
The interiors look classy with metallic finishes on the instrument panel, center console, doors and steering wheel. The instrument panel has been padded to give it a softer look; the leather wrapped steering has palm holds and padded armrests have been added for additional comfort of the passengers. Ford has also introduced a capless fuel filler system.
New technology features available on the 2010 Milan include: Spot Information System (BLISTM) with Cross Traffic Alert; The voice-activated hands-free in-car communication and entertainment system developed by Ford and Microsoft; plus new 911 Assist and Vehicle Health Report provided with no monthly fees.
