Little Rock, AR (PressExposure) January 18, 2011 -- Reporter (CWR) is proud to announce our association with psychologist, author, speaker, and the leading expert in the subtle communication patterns of domestic abuse. Dr. King is known for her work in helping people break free from the cycle of abuse and heal from the wounds of relationship violence. She is the founding Director of Partners in Prevention, a non-profit organization committed to helping bridge healthcare delivery and domestic abuse victim advocacy.
Her groundbreaking book, All But My Soul: Abuse Beyond Control, has been used as a college textbook in criminal justice and has helped thousands of people break the cycle of abuse.
"We have great interest in countering the occurrence and effects of domestic abuse in America, and particularly the instance of domestic abuse violence on college and university campuses," said CWR publisher Donell Edwards. "We were delighted to find a passionate, experienced, and dedicated domestic abuse prevention advocate such as Dr. King, and that she accepted our invitation to help us empower students by informing and educating them through her CWR column, Breaking The Cycle."
While college campuses may be perceived by some as a safe haven for students that is free of the pervasive effects of domestic violence in society as a whole, the truth is that domestic violence is a major problem in our colleges and universities. The magnitude of the problem is difficult to determine because most experts believe that many incidents of domestic on college campuses are not reported.
Edwards says, "It is because of our concern for students' safety that we introduced our CWR Security Focus column, and our Breaking The Cycle column written by Dr. King."
