Olmsted Township, Ohio (PressExposure) April 16, 2009 -- "Sermons on Wave II Grace" by Eric M. Mackey, PhD
Salvation cuts to the heart and soul of human existence. People who confess Jesus as their Lord sometimes fear they will not go to Heaven. Many of today's faith based religious institutions are filled with scarred church members living in fear and not faith in their salvation. Could it be that so many people believe that their salvation is based on thier own works and being good?
Eric Mackey reminds us that God makes us righteous before God's Grace. Righteousness is based on God's relationship with us and not our relationship with God. Eric shares scriptures that indicate the need for us to trust in God's goodness and not our own. This is not to say that you and I can go and do our own thing without consequences. You and I are accountable to God as children who sometimes need to be disciplined, but NEVER forsaken or forgotten.
Children are shaped and corrected by their parents because it is the right thing to do, but we can not lose a relationship that is bound in Eternity itself. Dr. Mackey purposefully weaves Biblical teachings with everyday circumstances to reveal to us how faith in God does not make us Saints, but in God's eyes we will always be His Little Angels.
