The Green Media Show Set for October 1 and 2, 2008

First 300 conference registrants get a signed limited edition poster by Peter Max Peter Max partnered with a ground-breaking team of vendors (SustainCommWorld, Appleton Coated and EarthColor) to produce this poster exclusively for the conference using a green workflow. Max created a design that emanates a joyous, sustainable world in keeping with his signature style. The background of the poster is blue, with a vibrant orange sun coming up over a light green horizon filled with green mountains. Yellow rays of light spread over the bright blue sky, with multicolored trees surrounding a river.

The paper used to print the posters on is Appleton Coated’s Utopia Two: Extra Green (U2:XG) for the sustainable method in which it was produced. It also holds ink and colors very well, in addition to being environmentally friendly. It is the first paper in North America to be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which improves the practice of forestry.

EarthColor printers was chosen because of its carbon neutral location. The poster printing was powered by 100% renewable wind energy. According to the EPA, EarthColor is the U.S.’s number 1 renewable energy purchaser in the printing industry. Even the proofing process was green – Max approved the proof virtually, without seeing the poster printed on paper.

The sustainable printing process recycled all residual materials and the inks contained no VOCs (Volatile organic compounds), which may have short- or long-term health effects.
