Calgary, Canada (PressExposure) March 14, 2015 -- The Music Entrepreneur
David Andrew Wiebe - the founder of The Music Entrepreneur website - will be publishing his 120th podcast episode on March 16th.
The podcast - which began in 2009 - was initially a monthly feature that served as a means for Wiebe to support his music career.
That didn't last for long.
When his first podcast guest - Lucas Chaisson - asked to be on the show after seeing his latest email newsletter, Wiebe quickly came to realize the possibilities unfolding before him.
He had already interviewed the likes of Riley Armstrong, Tommy Tallarico, Pete Lesperance and Derek Sivers prior to creating the podcast.
He began to see that the podcast medium would allow him to bring the concept to a whole new level, and make it more accessible to musicians who had the desire to learn, but were always on the go.
Ever since that time, Wiebe has had a variety of guests on his show, from Todd Henry to David Hooper, and continues to interview industry people and experts who can bring new insights to the ongoing discussions.
Over the years, The Music Entrepreneur has developed into a full-fledged resource for musicians, featuring blog posts, podcast episodes, infographics, eBooks, audio courses, and more.
As his mission continues to unfold, Wiebe has found that musicians leaving school will know how to play an instrument and gain an understanding of music theory, but will not be taught the business side of music, including marketing.
"With all of the new social media outlets popping up every day, it is evident that there is no textbook formula, and musicians have to stay current with the times", Wiebe notes. As a musician and entrepreneur himself, Wiebe comments, "I wish I had a website like this to rely on when I was starting out in the music industry" and intends to help other aspiring musicians and performers take control of their careers.
The podcast has gone from a monthly format to a weekly format in recent years, and Wiebe is constantly bringing more insights to the table in an industry that has long been written off as being broken.
The 120th episode of the podcast is a special milestone for Wiebe, and will feature a special surprise for listeners who tune in.
