Port Vila, Vanuatu (PressExposure) July 09, 2009 -- Hostess to the First Ladies of the world, at the forthcoming G8 Summit in Italy will be Mara Carfanga, the one-time contestant of Miss Italy and topless model.
Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian Prime Minister continues his wayward ways of surprising the world, as he nominates Carfagna, alongside the dazzling beauty, Maria Stella Gemini, his education minister, to assist each other as hostesses at the summit. It is said Mr. Berlusconi appointed the two ladies as a prize for being 'staunch champions' through the latest allegations that the prime minister had an affair with high-class-call-girls last November. Mr Berlusconi has been nominated as Europe's most sexist leader.
Chaira Volpatro, Angelica Mucchi Fiana, Anne Maas and Marcella Ravenna, four professors say that Mr. Berlusconi's behavior threatens the dignity of all women of Italy. They have been blatant in their criticism of Mr. Burlusconi's choice of actresses, starlets and models as candidates of the prime minister's People of Freedom party.
The four senior academics say "As citizens of Italy, of Europe and of the world, we appeal to the first ladies of the countries involved in the G8 Summit. We ask them to desert the Italian meeting, to affirm strongly and unambiguously that the de-legitimization of women in one country offends women of all countries".
The G8 meeting has been transferred from the plush new conference facilities in Sardinia, to a police training barracks just outside L'Aquila, an area that was recently hit by an earthquake. The move was formed by Silvio Berlusconi, so that the plight of the 60,000 homeless from the earthquake would be brought to the world's attention. The media attention has upset many of these homeless people.
Three hundred and twenty million Euros have already been used on the new buildings in Sardinia, in preparation for the G8 summit. Now a supplementary 50 million Euros will be spent on preparation of the barracks.
