The eBook Academy Launches Website and First Writing Course

Oceanside, CA United Kingdom (PressExposure) October 18, 2012 -- On April 1, 2011 Amazon announced that the sale of ebooks surpassed that of print books, selling 105 ebooks for every 100 printed books. In 2010, 114 million ebooks were sold, and that number rose to 970 million in 2011. Ebook sales are expected to reach 9.7 billion by 2012. Readers are clamoring to read 'em and writers are hustling to write 'em. Unknown authors are being discovered and offered 7-figure deals by large publishing houses.

The Ebook Academy just opened its virtual doors to meet the growing needs of this exploding ebook market. Writers want to know everything they need to know to write and publish ebooks, while readers want more ebooks to read. "Ebooks are no longer the future," says Andrea Susan Glass, co-founder and Dean of Education at The Ebook Academy. "They're here now and are dominating the book market." According to Glass, an award-winning author, ghostwriter, and copyeditor of over 100 books and ebooks, people buy ebooks for several reasons such as entertainment, education, to answer a question, or to solve a problem.

"And authors want to write ebooks for various reasons," according to Bruce Fischer, Dean of Marketing at The Ebook Academy. "Earning extra income, positioning themselves as an expert, or building a career as an author are among the many reasons so many new authors are emerging onto the ebook scene."

The Ebook Academy, which launched its website on 10/10/12, is designed to ensure that both ebook readers and writers reach their goals. "We're the premiere online writing school dedicated exclusively to ebooks," says Fischer, a successful book publisher, promoter, and owner of Phoenix Publishing Group. "We're offering both virtual and live writing courses to teach how to write an ebook, how to publish an ebook, and how to market and sell ebooks."

The first live event at The Ebook Academy will be on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 10 am to 5 pm in Encinitas, California, a suburb of San Diego. "We wanted to introduce The Ebook Academy and its offerings locally before rolling it out globally," says Glass, owner of WritersWay and an instructor at several local and online universities. "In the one-day workshop, students will walk away with ideas for their ebook subject, title, chapter outline, and a structure and schedule to write the ebook."

"After Andrea shares her system for writing and creating an ebook, I'll be covering publishing an ebook and promotion and selling," says Fischer, the author of more than 50 books now being converted to ebooks. "We know a lot of authors who once they finally finish writing their ebook don't know what to do next. My goal is to have every student leave the workshop with a marketing plan and plan of action."

The Ebook Academy also plans to offer virtual ebook courses through webinars and home study courses. Enrollment in the academy allows students to get special offers on courses as well as a place in the eBookstore. "We're going to have all our students' ebooks for sale as well as our own educational ebooks," says Glass. "This way we're supporting both writers and readers."

Service packages offering everything from ghostwriting, copyediting, and publishing to marketing and mentoring will also be offered at The Ebook Academy. To sign up for the live class, register at []. The cost is $179 before and $199 after October 31. Space is limited. Any questions can be sent to
