The musical concert paying tribute to the king of pop Michael Jackson is now the longest running show at Lyric Theatre. It was in January 2009 when it made its West End debut at the venue, initially it was planned for a limited period run but following Jackson's death in 2009 the musical has become all the more popular.
It was in December 1888 when the Lyric Theatre opened at the Shaftesbury Avenue and in its history that spans beyond a century now, this is the most successful show hosted ever. Along with the record breaking Thriller Live, the other Michael Jackson classics that are part of the show include I Want You Back, I'll Be There, Show You The Way To Go, Can You Feel It, Rock With You, She's Out Of My Life, Thriller, Beat It, ABC, Man In The Mirror, Dirty Diana, Billie Jean and Earth Song.

The chief executive of the Nimax Theatre Nica Burns, came on stage after the conclusion of the 1,815th performance to make the announcement to the audiences who have kept the auditorium jam-packed. To mark the occasion, she also presented trophies to the show's producers Paul Walden and Derek Nicol of Flying Music. Also honoured on the occasion were the show's award winning director and choreographer Gary Lloyd, Musical Supervisor John Maher and the original creator Adrian Grant who has been personally associated with the king of pop for 21 years.
