North Myrtle Beach, SC (PressExposure) April 19, 2008 -- If you are from up north, itâs hard to actually grasp that around New Yearâs Day, you can be outside in a T-shirt in Myrtle Beach. Thatâs what happened this year anyway, whoâs to say it wouldnât happen again?
Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach house thousands and thousands of tourists in the summer, making traffic, restaurants, and attractions packed full. Plenty of guests, known as "Myrtle Beach snowbirds", spend their North Myrtle Beach vacation in the winter, staying for a month for very low rates (sometimes a quarter of the price) as compared to the summer.
Warmer Weather = More Tourists = More Footwork
Most of Myrtle Beach vacationers come from Spring to Fall, and the increase in traffic backs that up. Locals who drive along Hwy 17 or Ocean Blvd know they better add at least 10 to 15 minutes to their commute during the heavy tourist season. If you are anti-traffic, you may want to try coming earlier or later to stay out of the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist season. Myrtle Beach has mild temperatures all year long. So although you may not be able to take a swim in the ocean in October, you better believe the weather is still lovely enough to have a good time outside and take a walk on the beach.
It's also surprising to see how much cheaper rental rates are during the off-season. You can save half or even 75-percent off regular weekly summer rates! This goes for Myrtle Beach golf packages too. While there are plenty of North Myrtle Beach condos that dot the coast, the lower turnover of people during the off season drive rates down.
Myrtle Beach or North Myrtle Beach?
Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach are two separate incorporated cities. North Myrtle Beach isn't just the north end of Myrtle Beach, much to a tourist's surprise. Also, North Myrtle Beach Beach Houses and condos are just as nice and luxurious as Myrtle Beach, but still close to all the beach's amenities you came to enjoy.
North Myrtle Beach hosts Barefoot Landing, Alligator Adventure, House of Blues, Alabama Theatre and has some wonderful restaurants to choose from as well. But when you get the itch to drive to Myrtle Beach, it's only minutes away.
Either way you choose, http://www.myrtlebeachluxuryvacations.com has some beautiful top-quality condo and beach home units in North Myrtle Beach with very competitive rates. If you want to save money, you will have a cheaper vacation if you donât come during the heavy summer tourist season, but the weather will still be moderate and beautiful.
