Hebden Bridge, United Kingdom (PressExposure) November 18, 2009 -- Hundreds of glowing lights will create Christmas magic at the village of Haworthâs Torchlight Weekend on 12th and 13th December 2009.
The event attracts many visitors to this south Pennines village who come to enjoy the festive atmosphere, carol singing and traditional service in the parish church.
The event is described by organisers and âincredibleâ and is the highlight of the year for many.
Haworthâs main street will glow with the light of hundreds of torches as Mr and Mrs Santa lead a torch-lit procession down Main Street accompanied by the villageâs Holly Queen, Morris Dancers, choirs and bands.
On Saturday 12th December the event starts at the top of the cobbled Victorian Main Street at 3pm and ends with carol singing around the Christmas tree.
On Sunday 13th December it starts at 5.15pm and sees hundreds of torch and lantern bearers, along with choirs and bands singing carols, wind their way up from the bottom of Main Street to the Church for the traditional religious carol service.
The Torchlight Weekend promises to be a magical event that should not be missed.
