Cincinnati, OH (PressExposure) May 20, 2009 -- Total Quality Logistics (TQL), the nation's sixth largest freight brokerage firm, has officially opened the doors to its newest office location. Located in the heart of Chicago's River North District, the new office is the company's first business venture from its home city of Cincinnati, Ohio.
With exposed brick walls, oak beams and high windows, the 5,600 square foot office building is typical of Chicago urban living and is the current home to eleven full-time employees. The Chicago-based staff is made up of experienced Logistics Account Executives (LAE) who transferred from Total Quality Logistics's headquarters in Cincinnati. Similar to the employees located in its main office, the staff supports a network of nationwide clients, arranging full truckload shipments of all commodity types and traveling across the continental United States. They are not regionally restricted.
"Our main goal in opening up an office in Chicago was to attract potential employees who would like to join the Total Quality Logistics team, but are not interested in relocating to the Cincinnati area," said Kerry Byrne, TQL's Executive Vice President. "We have seen tremendous growth in Cincinnati and feel this new office provides us with the opportunity to continue that success in an additional market."
In addition to its workforce appeal, the Chicago location enables Total Quality Logistics to expand its footprint and, by giving the company a presence in the Central Time Zone, puts it in a key market for new business opportunities. TQL plans to grow the office staff organically, hiring additional Logistics Account Executives as its clients' businesses require. The office can hold up to 50 employees.
Total Quality Logistics is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. Its 100,000 square foot corporate office campus currently houses over 900 employees. The company also has an administrative support office located in Milford, Ohio.
