Tom Hughes began his career in information technology in 1980 with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and held a number of managerial and technical positions. He also worked for Texas American Services, Inc., Peer Services, Inc., and Lomas & Nettleton. In 1989, as consolidation in the banking and financial sector started to accelerate, he joined Boole & Babbage as a sales professional, spending 11 years supporting customers across the US with the company's MainView and Command/POST Enterprise Systems Management offerings.
In 1999, Boole & Babbage was acquired by BMC Software and Tom moved into account leadership role with BMC. At BMC, Tom was responsible for the company's entire portfolio of solutions for a select set of household name customers.
He joined the IBM Software Group in 2005 serving in a cross-brand role to cover very large System z accounts. In 2010 he moved into the Tivoli Brand as a Tiger Team Resource, then into the role of Worldwide Tivoli Automation Portfolio Leader. In 2012, Tom became responsible for the entire Tivoli Automation Product Portfolio for the Eastern US.
