Essex, Florida (PressExposure) May 21, 2009 -- Iâm amazed at how rings nowadays are. To be more specific, Iâm amazed at how tungsten rings have gone and how well theyâve been accepted by ring buyers all over. At first, people were hesitant to user tungsten rings since they were made of a new alloy and didnât seem as valuable as rings made of other metals like gold, platinum or titanium. But over time, I guess people acknowledged itâs qualities as one of the best types of rings around if youâre talking about keeping it for life. Although this might make it seem like itâs really good all over it also has its downside. Anyway, Iâll be talking about its pros and cons here.
For the pros, tungsten rings are known to be one of the hardest and most durable types of rings around. If youâre looking into something that will last a lifetime without getting a scratch on it then this is your present best bet, maybe there will be a better one in the future but as of now jewelers swear that it wonât sustain any scratches and be disfigured upon any impact. Some even give out lifetime warranties with the rings that they sell because they are so confident that they wonât have to honor them as long as they prove that is was structurally correct.
Now for the cons, we all itâs a fact that tungsten rings are one of the hardest around matching even titanium in durability thatâs why your run of the mill stores canât really modify them to your like once theyâve been bought, even engraving your name on them will need special tools to be done. So hereâs where you need to be sure before you place an order because once a ring is modified to your specifications then itâs stuck that way with no turning back. A good that most jewelers carry is that you can do unlimited exchanges if your ring size changes, most of them require only a small fee for the handling, the only drawback is that you can only do this for common designs, if you have one custom made then youâre stuck with rings that donât fit.
