Cumming, GA (PressExposure) May 20, 2008 -- For the second time this year, Turf Evolutions and MacCurrach Golf Construction completed one of the largest synthetic tee lines in the country at TPC Sawgrass.
The UltraTee synthetic tee line is 13 feet deep by 529 feet long, totaling 6,877 square feet. The turf is installed over a crushed stone base, and has a one foot TruGrass Matrix fringe around the hitting surface to protect it from maintenance procedures on the natural turf in front.
âTurf Evolutions is, again, proud to have been chosen by TPC Sawgrass for this project. Repeat customers are the highest referral possible, and we are excited to have our products at their facilityâ, states John Knox, Vice President of Turf Evolutions.
Others agree that UltraTee helps maintain the natural turf by providing a quality hitting surface during recovery time. Fred Klauk, former TPC Sawgrass Superintendent says, âTurf Evolutionsâ UltraTee is a practical addition to our teaching academy and driving range. While UltraTee is a realistic hitting surface, it also allows the natural turf to rest and recover, making it a better surface throughout the year. We appreciate the work the team at Turf Evolutions has done throughout our facilityâ.
Todd Jones, Head Instructor, added, âUltraTee is in use at the TOUR Academy, and the instructors and clients feel the surface is both similar and realistic compared to natural grass. UltraTurf allows the golf club to move under the ball, giving the player the feel and reaction they are accustomed to. This product is a great solution to the overburden of the natural turf areas that wear out quickly.â
About TruLine UltraTee TruLine UltraTee is a dense synthetic turf that golf courses and driving ranges can use as their hitting surface during inclement weather, heavy use, or when giving the natural turf a chance to heal and recover. UltraTee fibers give way to the club head so the player can âget behindâ the ball when using irons.
