Ultralingua Announces Multilingual Dictionaries for iPhone and iPod Touch!

The new dictionary service uses a specially designed iPhone interface and can be accessed by any iPhone or iPod Touch customer via Apple’s installed Safari browser. By pointing Safari to http://ultralingua.com/mobile, users have access to the full suite of Ultralingua’s online dictionaries -- including definitions and synonyms, as well as translations to and from many languages. Clicking on a word in a definition lets users launch a new search, conjugate a verb, or even search for examples of usage via Google. An additional feature allows users to translate numbers to text in different languages -- for example, translating “133” to “ciento treinta y tres.”

Light usage of the Ultralingua iPhone dictionary is free. Those needing more than a few searches per day will want to subscribe to the service. For $29.95 per year, users have unlimited access to all of Ultralingua’s online dictionaries from their desktop and laptop browsers.

The new iPhone product confirms Ultralingua’s commitment to making high-quality language resources available on all of the most-used platforms. Ultralingua dictionaries are available for Macintosh, Windows, Palm OS, Windows Mobile, Windows Smartphone, and the Web. These include licenses for volume users and developer versions with APIs for integration in other applications.
