Gary Peck and Scott Hamlin will re-use the world's pre-consumer excess, and through Looptworks aims to rid the world of waste while inspiring a generation to reduce their impact on the planet.
Gary Peck As a co-founder of Looptworks, Gary Peck is responsible for the product creation process. This role involves the design, development and sourcing of all Looptworks products.
"I feel as if my past career stops have prepared me perfectly to help close the loop on textile manufacturing through Looptworks, ( [http://www.looptworks.com/about.html] )," said Peck. "I've worked for multi-national sports apparel companies where I learned the ins and outs of supply chain management and the production process. I'm also a entrepreneur serving currently as the CEO of The S Group, a product design, innovation and sourcing company which I founded in 2000."
Peck started his career in 1981 with Nike and held positions as the director of Asian textiles and product development, and then as director of design and development. He led the commercialization of the first muscle tights and next-to-skin performance apparel. Peck launched the Jordan line, Athletics West Salazar line, and John McEnroe line which laid the foundation to leverage merchandise through sports marketing.
In 1988, Peck joined adidas AG to lead global design and development in Herzogenaurach, Germany as the Director of Apparel Design and Development. Later, he returned to the United States as managing director of adidas America apparel. His efforts drove sales from $60 million to $655 million while increasing product margin by 12 percent and doubling inventory returns.
Born in Capetown, South Africa, Peck studied in the U.S. and earned his bachelor's of textile engineering degree at the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. He later attended the University of Oregon to get his master's in business administration.
Scott Hamlin Scott Hamlin manages the day to day business at Looptworks, and is involved in the product creation process, web content creation, strategic planning, finance and operations. An outdoor enthusiast with a passion for sustainability, Hamlin is excited to turn traditional business notions inside-out, integrating environmental, social and economic factors into the company of Looptworks. To do that, he will call on his wide range of expertise in innovative product creation, brand building, and overall business leadership.
"I'm enjoy partnering with all kinds of talented and creative minds to find innovative solutions to the challenges of excess," said Hamlin. Hamlin started his career with adidas AG in 1993, in product creation and innovation, before moving abroad as the director of sales and marketing for adidas Argentina, and later as president and managing director of adidas Brazil. Hamlin oversaw all aspects of the business and realized more than 60 percent increases in revenue and a return to profitability in both countries.
In 2005, he joined Royal Robbins as the global director of product where he oversaw the design, development, product marketing and sourcing efforts of a brand that experienced significant growth and was acquired twice during his time there.
Hamlin is a native Oregonian and earned his BA in Journalism and Advertising from the University of Oregon. He is an active surfer, cyclist, climber, snowboarder and runner.
