Urgent Call To Pray For Families Of Fallen Servicemen And Women

Manalapan, NJ (PressExposure) December 01, 2006 -- Manalapan, NJ 11/30/06 Dr. Rev. Garland Pollard, Pastor, Gateway Community Church of Manalapan NJ announces a nationwide campaign of prayer support for the families of servicemen and women who were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan while fighting for freedom against terrorists.

"All politics aside," said Pollard, "we must give these families our heartfelt support. The families of those fallen heroes need to know the people of this great nation care about them. We are thinking about their losses and ardently praying for them as our way of giving them out best and most practical encouragement in this, their time of feeling the unimaginable impact and the very real grief of their loss as they realize their lives will never be the same again." Pastor Pollard went on to say: "The Christmas holidays will soon be upon us and now is the time for people in every state of this great nation to pray for the families of these servicemen and women." Then he asked: " Can you imagine what it would be like, this Christmas, to face the holidays without the presence of a son or daughter, a wife or husband, a father or brother, uncle or aunt or close friend who will never be with you again in this life at another family gathering?"

This is an urgent appeal for the people of each state to search the Internet for the names and hometowns (U S Casualties Statistics, Iraq and Afghanistan) of the military men and women who have been lost in the both Iraq and Afghanistan. The members of Gateway Community Church have compiled the names of the serviceman and women from New Jersey; each member will select one or more names from the list and pray for those families and friends as a practical way to support them in their time of grief.

The prayers will be: "We cannot imagine the grief you must be feeling at this time of year. Our hearts are weighed down with sorrow for your loss. We want you to know you are not alone and we are sincerely praying for you."

It is suggested a way be found, via local churches, newspapers, radio and television to do the same in every state. For more information about how to proceed, write to Pastor Pollard, Gateway Community Church, 80 Highway 33, Manalapan, NJ 07726, or call: 732-356-1595 Ext. 1137.
