Aurora, Colorado (PressExposure) January 06, 2008 -- Bobbijo Frazier, Coastal Vacations Director, recently donated vacation certificates to top fundraising families for Global Village Academy's winter fundraisers. "When I made the offer to donate the vacations at the PTO meeting, everyone was excited to hear about the vacations, and then they really started wondering how they might make more sales for the school's benefit." said Bobbijo.
The vacation winners were Karen Kistle and Vanessa Lewis. The winners were skeptical at first, but then excited all over again. The certificates awarded allowed the winners a 3 day/2 night stay at one of 25 locations, such as Orlando, FL, Branson, MO, Las Vegas, or San Diego.
Global Village Academy is located in Aurora, Colorado. The school features bilingual education in Mandarin Chinese or Spanish and an International Baccalaureate (IBO) program in English. These are language immersion programs. At Global Village Academy, students spend 50% of the day immersed in the world language they choose. Learning a second language in this way is much easier than learning it later in life. The five elements of the IBO curriculum emphasize concepts, such as change, connection, perspective and responsibility; skills in communication, social and thinking; attitudes, action, and knowledge. Next year, a French tract is being added as well.
Global Village Academy has their Black Tie Silent Auction coming up on February 9 with a Chinese New Year theme soon. More vacation packages will be there too, due to their extreme popularity.
Bobbijo stated, "Vacations create memories. This is a great way to offer incentives for any organization. Some schools that I work with like to offer an entire vacation package as the final raffle prize and that is the fundraiser. Either way, it's lots of fun for the families and the contributors."
