The Lady-Comp fertility computers are battery operated minicomputers for the measurement of the maternal basal body temperature (BBT). The computer enables the appraisal of a female's fertility cycle which is evaluated by the fertility computer and then presented on the optical display. The evaluation and calculation of the fertile days in a female's menstrual cycle occurs by using the attached electronic thermal sensor (0.05°C) to measure orally every morning the BBT. The products are used as a means to better plan their sexual activities, and ultimately, to either increase or decrease the probability of becoming pregnant. The products are also known to have applications as a diagnostic and monitoring aid in the treatment of infertility. The devices were designed in close cooperation with engineers, technicians, and gynecologists. A field study in Switzerland, Germany, and Mexico in 1998 by Prof. Freundl, et al, found the Lady-Comp to have a Pearl-Index of 0.7 (99.3% accuracy). In 2005, the FDA certified the Lady-Comp as an aid in ovulation prediction.
