Virginians Discover Treasures in Their Attics

Davie, Florida (PressExposure) April 08, 2009 -- More than 200 people brought their antiques and collectors items to be appraised at the "Treasures From The Attic" event hosted by Lennar and Manassas Museum Associates.

"Treasures From The Attic", the museum's annual charity event was held at Lennar's Heritage Hunt Community where more than $3,000 was raised for the museum through ticket sales.

"We were thrilled to hold such a unique event at Heritage Hunt," said Brenda Sharp, director of sales and marketing for Lennar's Virginia division. " The public response was wonderful as people really wanted to know what their items were worth; but best of all is that we were able to help raise money for such a terrific organization, The Manassas Museum Associates," Sharp said.

According to Sharp, 24 antique appraisers evaluated items in 12 different categories from dolls, silver, toys, jewelry, furniture and China to art, clocks, pottery, glass, vintage clothing and coins. The highlights of the day included a 1799 US Silver Dollar, a Civil War era Tiffany saber, a museum quality Buddha urn and a Star sapphire jewelry set that appraised for thousands of dollars.

"Heritage Hunt was the perfect community to hold this event," said Ann Thomas of the Manassas Museum Associates. "The clubhouse was beautiful and the Gainesville location was perfect. We are grateful for our partnership with Lennar", Thomas said.

Heritage Hunt is an active adult community in Gainesville, Virginia. Nestled among nearly 800 acres, Heritage Hunt offers a wide range of amenities for its residents including an 18-hole championship golf course, grand clubhouse complete with onsite dining, a health club and indoor/outdoor swimming pools.

"Visitors who attended the event were able to get a first-hand view of the new homes and luxury condominiums available for purchase at Heritage Hunt," Sharp said. " This is especially exciting because the last phase of construction is now underway", she added.

The community showcases condominiums and single family homes with up to 2,706 square feet of living space and priced from $190,000.

Heritage Hunt is presented by Lennar. Lennar Corporation, founded in 1954, is headquartered in Miami, Florida and is one of the nation's leading builders of quality homes for all generations.
