Wake Forest, NC (PressExposure) June 15, 2008 -- Gift-Giving Contest Kicks Off Yearlong Celebrati
TheClassicalStation.org, WCPE, announces today a contest for loyal listeners to celebrate the station's 30th anniversary. The randomly drawn winners will receive one of the WCPE 30th birthday presents in celebration of three decades of Great Classical Music, 24 Hours A Day. The drawing will take place on the anniversary of the station's first broadcast, July 18. Thirty winners, one for each year of broadcasting, will be named.
"Listeners have supported us these many years through their generous gifts," says WCPE General Manager Deborah S. Proctor. "This is a great way to say thank you by giving gifts back. I encourage everyone to participate."
The gifts will include: CDs, books, concert tickets, WCPE T-shirts, caps and more. To enter, send your name, home addresses, phone number and e-mail address, if you have one, to WCPE, Att. Deana Vassar, P.O. Box 897, Wake Forest, N.C. 27588. Entries need to be postmarked no later than July 11, 2008. Entries can also be made via the Internet at TheClassicalStation.org; look for the WCPE 30th Anniversary link.
From June 18, 2008 until June 18, 2009, WCPE will be celebrating its anniversary with contests, events, special programming and announcements.
With a 30-year history, WCPE is a non-commercial, 100 percent listener-supported, independent station dedicated to excellence in Great Classical Music, 24 Hours A Day. Community-minded business underwriters and foundations are among the 150,000 listeners in the North Carolina broadcast area. General Manager Deborah S. Proctorâs leadership has enabled the WCPE community to include national and worldwide listeners. Other radio stations and cable television systems can rebroadcast Great Classical Music, 24 Hours A Day. WCPE is one of the first public broadcasters to stream on the Internet. WCPE is heard worldwide on the Internet in multiple formats, including the next generation IPv6. Because WCPE receives no tax-derived support, the station conducts two on-air fundraising campaigns and two major mail-out campaigns per year to raise needed operating funds. Quarter Notes, the WCPE Program Guide, is published four times a year as a means to enhance appreciation and understanding of classical music. It is distributed to station supporters and is also available online at TheClassicalStation.org/guide.
