Leading UK based African businesswomen to be honoured at the WE Awards 2011
The 2nd Annual WE awards ceremony which will honour high achieving women of African descent takes place in November 2011 in the capital.
The GL WE [Women in Enterprise] Awards, will recognise ten exceptional women in journalism, public relations, recruitment, television, fashion and social development who have transformed their ideas into successful businesses, on 26th November at the Crowne Plaza in Blackfrairs, London.
The WE Awards event is organized by the Ghanaian Londoners (GL) Network, a popular black professionals networking group set up in 2009 by social entrepreneur Adwoa Agyemang. It's GL's women empowerment initiative and she felt it was necessary to acknowledge businesswomen in the UK.
"I have been inspired by the bold and spirited women who I've come across and are making waves in their respective fields. The evening has been put together to recognise women's achievements and inspire others - men and women, old and young - to embrace entrepreneurship. I want to promote and acknowledge those, in this case women, who are dedicated to economic growth and community development. " she says.
The event which honours will also celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week and will provide an opportunity for professionals & entrepreneurs to network.
