WITS Podcast Schedule January 2008

Nashville, TN (PressExposure) January 10, 2008 -- In October of 2006, freelance writer and business owner Yvonne Perry started a podcast to help her clients promote their books. Realizing that many of her listeners would be readers of books as well as writers who need more information about the book publishing industry, she came up with the idea for a show format that would benefit both.

The show begins with the author telling how he or she got started as a writer and sharing their storyline to give readers an idea of what the featured book is about. Then, the author shares how they brought their book to market. Whether self-published, conventionally published or published through a publish-on-demand service, an author’s publishing experience is unique and provides insight for other authors who are still contemplating how they will publish.

January’s schedule represents guests in a variety of genres:

January 4 - Mark David Gerson, author of The Voice of the Muse: Answering the Call to Write, joins Yvonne Perry for a hearty discussion about writer’s blog. What is it? Why does it come? What message does it bring? What is this “muse” everyone talks about?

January 11 - Arkansas native, Velda Brotherton, discusses her book, Fly With The Mourning Dove—the true story of a young girl who grows up on a homestead in New Mexico. For the past twenty years Velda has been writing historical articles and books. She is the co-chair of a writer's critique group that recently celebrated twenty years of success helping fledgling writers.

January 18 - Virtual book tour specialist, Dorothy Thompson, brings a wealth of information to authors who are looking to better understand the benefits of online virtual book tours. The stay-at-home virtual book tour has proven to be an effective way to market a book online by offering readers a chance to get to know you and become familiar with your writing.

January 25 - Writers in the Sky Podcast Show listeners will enjoy hearing more about Cheryl Robinson’s entertaining new novel, Sweet Georgia Brown. Hear how Cheryl’s successful self-publishing career landed her a 2-book deal with New American Library (NAL), a division of the Penguin Group.
