Warrior Group Prepares Small Companies to Succeed With Small Business Academy

Desoto, Texas (PressExposure) February 03, 2012 -- Each year, DeSoto-based general contractor Warrior Group hosts the Warrior Small Business Academy, a free eight-week program for small, woman and/or minority owned in the construction industry. Registration for the 2012 Warrior Small Business Academy will be open as of February 1.

As a woman/ minority owned business and a Texas HUB, Warrior understands the challenges faced by small businesses in the construction industry and strives to help other businesses overcome these challenges. Participants in the Warrior Small Business Academy will learn from successful small business professionals in the construction industry. They will receive insights, tips and techniques designed to enable them to develop effective practices and avoid common mistakes. The program's learning objectives include:

- Discover the steps to building capacity, including bonding, insurance and staffing

- Understand how to secure contracts with federal, state and local agencies

- Gain the knowledge to efficiently estimate and bid projects

- Perform with excellence once a contract is awarded

- Effectively market your business

- Network to form business relationships

Classes will meet Tuesday evenings April 24 to June 12, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the University of North Texas Dallas Campus, 7300 University Hills Boulevard in Dallas.
