Vancouver, Canada (PressExposure) April 21, 2008 -- - FUZGO.com is releasing a new localized social networking utility currently in beta. The website's main feature allows users to connect with their neighbors through a map interface, all while maintaining a safe level of privacy. Localizing event listings, classifieds, and online communities, Fuzgo offers a targeted web based medium to promote community interaction and involvement. People can organize block watches, raise local issues, and socialize with people living in their area.
"We feel social networking sites are too broad, too general. It is great that people from all over the world can connect to their friends, but what about the people and businesses in their own neighborhood? We don't really touch people around us." says Zeeshan Hayat, Fuzgo's CEO. "This is an issue on the minds of so many people using other social networking sites, they want local interaction." says Arif Ali, head of business development.
Restaurants, salons, movie theaters, coffee shops and the myriad of businesses and community programs that operate locally need a way to connect directly to those people who are around them. Through Fuzgo, people and businesses would be given a platform to connect with those in their local community by creating a personal or business profile.
One interesting feature this website will be releasing in late April is a do-it-yourself video creator. This tool will be made available for those with business profiles to create online video ads and promote their businesses. They hope that the implementation of innovative software for the creation of online videos ads will provide small businesses the ability to target their video advertising to people who are most likely to visit them.
Unlike other businesses that wait to become profitable before starting any charitable efforts, Fuzgo intends to start from its inception. Through the creation of the Fuzgo Cares Network, its members can donate $1 a month to be distributed to partnering charities. Hoping to bring "social consciousness" into social networking at a local level, they have committed to helping raise funds through the Fuzgo Care Network for the BC Children's Hospital and Covenant House. "We believe this initiative can change the world, one profile at a time" says Zeeshan.
Fuzgo.com encourages other charities to join the Fuzgo Cares Network and use this utility to raise funds for their local communities.
