Fremont, California (PressExposure) May 27, 2013 -- Summary: MentorHealth, a leading provider of online training for the healthcare industry, is organizing a webinar on the topic, "How to Deal with the Disruptive Practitioner" on June 25. William Mack Copeland, president of Executive & Managerial Development Group, will be the speaker at this session.
Medical staff bylaws state the mode of behavior of medical staff. Each healthcare organization should have medical staff rules, regulations, policies and procedures to this effect.
Yet, some staff members can become violent and abusive in their behavior and become disruptive to the functioning of the organization. When an organization understands what kind of act is classified under disruptive behavior; it becomes easier to proceed against such an employee legally. This webinar gives an understanding of what comprises disruptive behavior. While verbally abusive and violent behavior can be termed disruptive, this is a board term and many more actions come under its banner. This session will give participants an understanding of the kind of behavior that can be classified as being disruptive, as well as what needs to be done to rein in employees in the organization who have a tendency to be disruptive.
It will cover the following areas:
- Disruptive practitioner policies
- Corrective action procedures
- What constitutes disruptive behavior?
- Steps the hospital and/or the medical staff should take to see that the disruptive activity does not affect patient care or disrupt operations.
- Do not condone the problem until it gets to a point where it can no longer be ignored
When: June 25, 10:00 AM PDT | 01:00 PM EDT
