Darlington, United Kingdom (PressExposure) February 07, 2012 -- Too many people are living with a negative mind-set!
So says Richard Moriarty a life and business transformation coach from Darlington.
Richard Moriarty is known for thinking outside the box or even for taking the box away altogether and was the inspiration behind the project that saw the Quaker Friends Meeting House in Skinnergate Darlington go from a building ready to close down and which had been put up for sale, to a building centred in community action and support and which is once again showing an outward sign of Quaker testimony in Darlington.
"Darlington is a town that was built by Quakers living a successful entrepreneurial life whilst also engaging in community support and charitable works." Says Richard " It was important that that presence was brought back to the forefront and took its place in the modern Darlington of today!"
Its a shame that the Quaker's name has become attatched to a failing football club because the name stands solid in other parts of societyand the revitalisation of the Quaker Meeting House is an example to all that it can be done!
Richard who has won awards for his inspirational and innovative projects in the past has been working on projects for his MA by searching for the best training and coaching methods to support small business owners, managers and leaders for some time. He has been working on projects to improve professional practice, particularly for small businesses and voluntary organisations.
Recently he has joined up with Louise Forrest and Sarah Gredziak at what used to be Indulgence hair and beauty salon in Skinnergate to create an exciting new venture - Indulgence Un-limited, the ultimate in personal and business transformation!
Richard says "Now is not the time for small businesses and voluntary organisations to give up - it is a time to take stock of where you are, seek to improve your most valuable assets (your staff) and develop a culture that doesn't just survive the current economic climate but that thrives in it!
I'm not saying that it will be easy but if you look at the solutions you need in order to thrive in these days of recession, rather than the consequences of simply surviving in them, then you can put in place the action plan to take you forward into a brighter future!"
Richard is promoting an innovative and interesting new network of local support courses which help small businesses and voluntary organisations to support and work with each other to provide mutual benefits. He also promotes self-awareness and self-management courses as part of the necessary personal transformation people need to become successful in business, reduce personal stress and increase personal wellbeing.
"Teaming up with Indulgence was a very positive decision" he says "The salon has redeveloped just llike the Meeting House and has expanded its remit from being a simple hair salon and is now offering courses for those who want to change their image and those who want improve their inner self, its good to be involved with such personal image experts."
Right now is the time to be thinking positively both as individuals and as organisations, about what we look like, how to stay one step ahead of our competition and thinking about how we come across to others - no matter if that is our boss, staff or our customers, because if we appear as better presented and more approachable people and organisations than someone else who is providing similar services and skills, then we will win every time!
"That is the way to stay in your job or to develop your business in these hard times" says Richard.
"If you don't put effort into yourself then don't be surprised when someone else beats you in the success stakes!"
