Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom (PressExposure) October 06, 2013 -- Wildgoose Events, a company which specialises in technology based team building events, has proved its place as a market leader by winning one of the top National Entrepreneur Awards 2013 in the Most Impressive Growth category.
Jonny Edser, Managing Director and Peter Barker, Operations Director were at the Awards Ceremony in Birmingham to receive the award. Peter says "I attended the National Entrepreneur's two day convention which was really inspiring and scooping the Award was the icing on the cake. It has been amazing year for Wildgoose and we are looking forward to another year of sustained growth."
Jonny continues "We were so excited when the name Wildgoose was announced! The National Entrepreneur Awards are very prestigious and to be acknowledged in front of so many business leaders was absolutely brilliant. We were nominated in the 'Most Impressive Growth' category because we've had a phenomenal 52% growth so far this year which has also catapulted us into the UK's list of Top 50 Event Companies. Winning this award is just a fantastic accolade for our incredible team and we'll certainly be sharing the success over a few more bottles of champagne." Wildgoose won in a hotly contested category against four other high calibre finalists. The company's impressive win covers a year of exceptional growth. In the past year Wildgoose has gone truly global by licensing its technology to eight licensees in territories as far afield as New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa. In the past 18 months the Wildgoose team has grown by 140%, with the company investing in its staff and hiring the best people to help the company grow.
It is currently investing a substantial six figure sum in the development of its new ground breaking App, to be launched in 2014, which will again keep Wildgoose well ahead of the competition. It is also developing untapped potential new markets such as Destination Management Companies, for foreign businesses coming to the UK for conferences and events. The National Entrepreneur's Awards were set up to recognise entrepreneurs for their considerable achievements. They are aimed at business owners who don't accept the doom and gloom that surrounds the world of small to medium businesses and they are the creative driving force behind British PLC. Alistair McGowan, the UK's top satirical impressionist, hosted the award ceremony which paid tribute to the most impressive business owners in the UK.
Further cause for celebration came from Wildgoose's Scottish licensee, Maximillion Events, an award winning company which had entered the Scottish Event Awards with a Wildgoose high tech team building event which they organised for the Business Tourism Conference.
John Strachan, Maximillion's MD says "We won the Best Use Of Technology award this year at the Scottish Event Awards. In previous years we've won awards relating to team building, corporate events, green tourism and sustainability but this is our first in technology. The event we designed was bespoke and demonstrates that the Wildgoose GPS tablet technology can be flexible to meet a specific set of objectives and requirements. It's great to be able to share the glory with Wildgoose.
"It's always nice to be recognised for doing a good job and winning an award certainly puts a smile on all our faces, but awards are more than that. Entering for an award makes you open your organisation up to the scrutiny of experts and win or lose, the feedback you get and the benchmarking process you go through is invaluable to the continual improvement of the business."
Ends 7th October 2013
