Ridgecrest, CA (PressExposure) November 04, 2011 -- LuckyCinda owner, Lucinda Sue Crosby has been selected for inclusion in "50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading," 2011 edition. The award winning journalist and environmentalist will be featured in the upcoming book created by The Authors Show, an online television and radio firm.
The Authors Show producers chose 114 writers from a list of guests that were featured on their various programs throughout the year. Online fans were then asked to vote for their favorites based on author interviews, an essay, biography and published work. Crosby's novel, "Francesca of Lost Nation," was a fan favorite.
The book relates a lively and poignant summer of adventures shared by a daring, unconventional 59-year-old woman and her precocious and resourceful 10-year-old granddaughter in 1947 small town Iowa. Together they encounter an escaped arsonist, enchant barnstorming pilots and stumble across the reason the intriguingly named town got its name. Released in late 2010, the novel is the winner of three other literary honors.
"No one is more amazed by this award than I," Crosby said. "I could never have envisioned this level of acceptance for my book when I started writing it back in 1993 ... and I want to thank everyone who has consistently supported me. The novel was conceived as a kind of love letter to my flesh-and-blood grandmother, the most fascinating person I have ever known. Frankly, she'd be thrilled by the attention."

I was born at Stanford Hospital and raised in Pasadena, California. I currently live and work in the Eastern Sierra.
My day job entails being a water educator and conservation specialist ... I consider the availability and affordabilty of water to be THE ISSUE of the 21st Century. In fact, I am very proud of my service in this field. I've had a lot of careers in my life - professional athlete, actor, singer, songwriter, journalist, sports commentator - whew!
But what I've enjoyed most is writing. Since I was 3-years-old, I have had a passionate love affair with the written word.
