Kolkata, India (PressExposure) May 27, 2013 -- The first match was played between Alarico, the Red team and Hoodwink, the Blue team. The match beings at 4pm with a ball throw by Shri Suvendro Mullick, Vice Presidents, Calcutta Polo Club. A goal from the Hoodwink team took the scoreboard to 0-1 with 7min on the clock, but Alarico quickly restored the goal, with another two soon following. An impressive contribution by Pranshu Chauhan (2) and Simran Lodge (1) seal Alarico a convincing victory, with a final score of 3-1 over Hoodwink's Arhant. M. Agarwal (3) and Semanti Chakladar (4).
The second match of Arena Polo Weekend Trophy for Amateurs, at Calcutta Polo Club was played between Rubystar and Ming. The match begins at 4:30pm with a ball throw by Shri C P Sinha, the Patron Player of Calcutta Polo Club. Ming initiated the responsibility to engage the score keeper with an essential contribution of Yathansh. A. Jain (3) and Raghav Bansal (4) and retain the scoreboard until the second half of the match. In the second half, Rubystar's Ikshit Samanta (1) and Utkarsh Vaish (2) made enough efforts but could not stand by Ming's Devbrat Bubna (3) and Raghav Bansal (4). Before the match yet to finish Ming scored another goal, and managed 0-2 win over Rubystar.
The wife of the President of the Club, Smt Bangur presented the medals and certificates to the participants. "It's a very good effort for entire team of Calcutta Polo Club. Arena Polo Weekend Trophy for Amateurs will have a long way to go." she praised. As it was the 1st teenagers polo match, the President, Shri Keshav Bangur announced to handover the Arena Polo Weekend Trophy for Amateurs, to honor all the teams.
"Arena Polo Weekend is the first arena polo format in the Eastern India. This tournament is being held to increase awareness amongst Kolkatans'. As most of us are unaware that such an opportunity lies within our reach. For those who wish to play, we are here to make a way!
