Despite this impression, 2010 is offering opportunities for Cheap Mexico Oceanfront Real Estate in excellent locations.
In many of the most famous oceanfront locations, in Mexico and otherwise, demand for real estate which allows for a relaxing lifestyle directly on the beach has risen, and with the demand prices have also increased. Because of the large amount of attention brought to luxury oceanfront real estate, many buyers have the impression that these are the only choices available, and the prices may be beyond their reach.
Various examples of bargain Mexico oceanfront real estate will show that this impression is not entirely true, and cheap lots can still be found in attractive locations. One example of bargain oceanfront available in 2009 was the beachfront at the community of Chemuyil near Tulum, on the Caribbean coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. Here reasonable oceanfront lots were bought by Americans and Canadians for under $50,000 US.

Prices currently start under $60,000 US, with the construction price of a home from $70 - $80 / sq. ft.
