Pune, India (PressExposure) June 11, 2009 -- As part of a Corporate Social Responsibility, e-Zest participated in cycle rally and walkathon arranged by ALERT Pune on Sunday, June 7th. ALERT group organized this event to observe World Environment Day which is on June 5th. Various IT companies and NGOs participated in the rally along with e-Zest.
e-Zest is committed to social activities including environment cause, and participating in cycle rally and walkathon was one of the action items on its annual social activities calendar. All the participants from e-Zest were full of enthusiasm and had a sense of commitment towards the noble cause of keeping our environment green.
Mr. Mohan Dharia - Vanrai Founder and Adv. Vandana Chavan - Ex-Mayor of Pune & ALERT founder flagged off the event along with ALERT and Youth group members. The rally started at historical landmark Shanivar Wada, the heart of the city and culminated at Sambhaji Park. e-Zest team made Rally lively with Slogans like 'Global Warming is a global Warning' and 'Keep it Simple, Keep it Green'. There was a keen effort to make people aware about environment concerns & positive actions to be taken.
During concluding ceremony, Devendra Deshmukh, co-founder and executive director of e-Zest, addressed participants with other prominent speakers. He requested productive steps towards minimizing carbon footprints to keep our Mother Earth green. He also updated about Green IT initiatives at e-Zest.
"e-Zest not only participates in such initiatives but has also formed a green group, called O2Mania that spreads green awareness among colleagues & society. The O2Mania group is active in green activities since its inception. The company is planning awareness presentation & sapling plantation activity during month of June" updated Ashish Gupta, executive director & co-founder of e-Zest.
Amol Pande, co-founder and executive director of e-Zest, expressed gratitude towards all the rally participants and O2Mania volunteers, and hinted that this is not a one time activity but an entire year's effort.
e-Zest intends to bring off more such activities throughout its yearly 'Green' plan and would like to be a helping hand in saving our Earth!
