Peoria, IL (PressExposure) March 30, 2009 -- The new 2010 Mazda CX-7 will be arriving at Heritage Mazda, the premier Mazda dealer in Peoria, Illinois, this summer and will feature a slew of exciting new upgrades.
New on the 2010 CX-7 are the grille and a refashioned interior. The front of the 2010 Mazda CX7 shows a larger five-point grille design while the rear end has also been refreshed. The much larger side air-intakes give the CX-7 a much more aggressive look. Mazda's signature 'smiling' front grille remains intact on the new CX-7, complete with a chrome surround. The most striking addition to the CX-7 in North America is the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, the same one that powers the 2010 Ford Fusion and Mazda3. The 2010 model is projected to have a lower sticker price than the comparable 2009 model at the Heritage Peoria Illinois Mazda dealership and will feature improved fuel efficiency as well.
Also for the 2010 model year the CX-7 receives exterior and interior styling to complement a host of engineering refinements. Leading the way is a new engine option. Making its first appearance under the hood of the CX-7 is Mazda's all-new DOHC 16-valve 2.5 liter MZR four-cylinder that produces 161 horsepower. The Heritage Mazda dealers in Peoria will have the CX-7 available with Front-Wheel Drive coupled to a 5-speed automatic transmission.
Additionally, the 2010 Mazda CX7 also offers the choice of the MZR 2.3L DISI Turbo (direct injection DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder) engine that delivers 244 hp at 5,000 rpm and 258 lb-ft of torque at 2,500 rpm.
"It turns rings around a Toyota Highlander with slop-free steering and stout body control," noted one Car and Driver review. "It cruises freeways without choppy ride of a Nissan Murano. The inside is spacious in the two-row class and the turbo four makes speed smoothly and with surprisingly low-end wallop."
On the inside the 2010 CX-7 receives higher quality materials--a new design for the gauges, including blackout meters that feature three-dimensional dials, and a 3.5 inch super-twisted nematic (STN) monochrome and 4.1 inch thin-film transistor (TFT) color Multi Information Display (MID) positioned at the top of the instrument panel to provide the driver with enhanced information. Bluetooth compatibility provides a wireless connection compatible with mobile phones and portable audio devices, and the front seats gain a three-position memory function for the driver's seat and a power adjustable recliner for the passenger seat. A Blind Spot Monitoring System, similar to the one found on the Mazda6 & CX-9 is now available to assist the driver in avoiding collisions with other vehicles when changing lanes or merging with traffic.
Heritage Mazda is the Mazda car dealer Peoria who will have the 2010 CX-7 right when it hits showrooms this summer. Locally, Heritage Mazda looks forward to offering the upgraded CX-7, telling its customers to stop in their local Mazda dealership for a test drive this summer.
