Los Angeles, CA (PressExposure) December 01, 2009 -- Twenty Five years ago William Dorich left a successful 20-year career in the printing industry to begin his mini publishing empire with one client, Access Press Ltd, New York, a relationship that lasted ten years in which GM produced and printed over 40 titles including Access London, Paris and Rome and the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Games for Atlantic Richfield. Subsequent Olympic Guide books were created for the Calgary Games and ABC Sports, and the 1992 Barcelona Games for Simon & Schuster after their purchase of Access Press.
GM Books went on to produce and print a number of books for the Los Angeles Times including Witness to War: Images of the Persian Gulf War which won a Pulitzer. Other titles for the Times included ConArtist: 30-year anniversary of cartoonist Paul Conrad, The Los Angeles Earthquake, The LA Riots, Going Out in Orange County by Max Jacobson and 30 Years of Recipe Request by Rose Dasti.
GM has established an excellent reputation for independent publishing of over 150 titles. GM was one of the first West coast publishers of eBooks on CD disks with the Nikon Coolpix Series that published six editions. Since that time they have published a number How-to digital camera eBook that include the Sony Cybershot, Canon 350XT, the Nikon D40, D80, D200, D300 and the newest D90 eBook on how to make movies with this still camera. Four of these eBooks by author Peter iNova were best-sellers.
Last year GM embarked on publishing a child's first "Press & Play" talking bible storybook for pre-readers and founder William Dorich published his 6th book, Defeat Foreclosure, a guide for homeowners on ways to save their home and protect their credit. In 2009 William also wrote The Nursing Home Crisis, a must read for anyone needing to place a loved one or a parent in a nursing home.
GM Book will begin 2010 by publishing the autobiography of Sir Eldon Griffiths, former member of the British Parliament, editor of Time and Newsweek and current president of the World Affairs Counsel of Orange County, California; the publishing of Victims of An Attitude by an Irish author that is already being negotiated for a screen play; the publishing of a Salvadorian Cookbook and Mr. Dorich will publish his 8th book, Sleep Seekers: A reference for insomniacs.
