Appleton, WI (PressExposure) February 25, 2014 -- AZCO INC., one of the Midwest's most trusted names in industrial construction and fabrication, is pleased to announce that 2014 will mark its 65th year in business. Since opening its doors in 1949, AZCO has become an integral part of the community, constructing and fabricating for some of the most iconic landmarks across the Fox Cities and constructing award winning projects across the United States.
John Trottier, President and CEO of AZCO INC. said, "We will take time out to honor our past this year, but mostly we want to celebrate the future. AZCO continues to be successful despite the challenges of our economy. We have some of the best and hardest working employees in the industry providing quality craftsmanship in a safe environment. They understand what it means to take care of our customers."
AZCO INC. started business in 1949 with four individuals who identified a need for quality mechanical contractors in the Fox Valley initially serving the pulp and paper industry the region is known for. Originally the name developed out of an idea signifying service offerings from A - Z and has come a long way from the "one call gets them all" slogan the business started with.
Today, AZCO INC. is an ESOP company employing over one hundred individuals locally, and working with approximately 540 union craftsmen nationally. AZCO provides heavy industrial construction and fabrication services across the country serving the power generation, refinery, and metal casting industries, as well as general manufacturing.
During the past six decades, AZCO INC. has worked with some very notable locally-based companies such as Kimberly Clark, Neenah Foundry, Wisconsin Public Service, Waupaca Foundry, We Energies, Alliant Energy, Bemis-Curwood and the Outagamie County Regional Airport. In addition, AZCO has partnered with Miller Electric for many years testing and using Miller Welding machines in the fabrication locations and in the field.
To commemorate the company's 65th anniversary, AZCO has developed and released a celebratory logo that will be used throughout the year
AZCO INC. established its first shop fabrication facility and equipment yard in 1953 which can still be seen on the west side of Highway 41. With its headquarters in the Town of Menasha, AZCO operates three fabrication locations in the Fox Valley including two in the Town of Menasha and one in Appleton.
In 1985 AZCO INC. marked a major milestone in the full service concept (services from A - Z) with the purchase of HENNES Erecting, Inc. also of Appleton. The merger of these two companies made for a potent force with the addition of providing heavy machinery moving and installation as well as steel erecting services.
Since AZCO INC. became employee owned, it has been recognized as one of the nation's top 20 Power Contractors and the growth in sales led to working coast to coast on gas fired, biomass, nuclear and coal plants as well as to adding a regional office in Minnesota, with plans to add another in Colorado, to truly provide cost-effective delivery of the highest quality solutions.
