Jacksonville, Florida (PressExposure) August 05, 2009 -- In 1992, Teneshia LaFaye, 16, discovered that she was pregnant with a child. But what she didn't discover is that the child, Darian Demetri would grow up to become a spectacular teenager and the co-author of their newly released book What My Mom Taught Me About Money: A financial guide for teens and young adults.
As a kid Demetri witnessed his mom overcome various obstacles, such as graduating from the prestigious University of Florida while taking care of him and her financial struggles. "We never traveled," Demetri recalls of his childhood.
Years later Darian Demetri,16, and his mom Teneshia Lafaye,33, are living a wonderful life and building their first house on a large lot in Florida. With the accumulated wisdom that Lafaye has gained over the years, and passed to her son they were able to release their first book, which is available on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com. The book teaches teenagers how to properly manage their money so that they will never struggle.
The mother and son team both have big goals for the future. Lafaye plans to release more books and become a role model for pregnant teenage girls. And Demetri aspires to become a developer with a degree in Architecture.
