Tempe, AZ (PressExposure) November 15, 2007 -- After 4 years of planning and preparation, an innovative non-profit organization, Treasures 4 Teachers, has opened its doors to educators throughout Arizona. As its name implies, Treasures 4 Teachers puts crucial supplies and materials into classrooms and other kid-focused programs (including home schools and child care facilities) while helping the environment, improving our educational system, and saving businesses money.
The primary mission is: "To promote Earth-Friendly education and ensure that children and classrooms across Arizona have the tools for learning by transferring the community's surplus materials into the hands of educators and students, regardless of economic status." By capturing unwanted items from businesses and manufacturers and helping educators "re-purpose" them into everyday learning activities in the classroom, T4T prevents tons of useful, and useable, materials from clogging our landfills and, at the same time, provides creative and resourceful teachers with the tools they need to help their students succeed.
