Abacus Trucks Return From Kosovo Aid Convoy

Ferndown, (PressExposure) May 20, 2008 -- Six trucks used as part of charity aid convoy to the South West area of Kosovo have returned to their Ferndown base. The 7.5 ton trucks from Abacus the vehicle hire company were driven by volunteers as part of Essex based Hope and Aid Directs support for impoverished communities in the small state that is still recovering from the 1999 conflict.

Over 74 tonnes of essential items that were either donated or purchased through fundraising by the charity were delivered to families and schools over the 2 weeks. Despite the harsh conditions, the trucks returned unscathed after travelling more than 4,000 miles.
