Hyderabad, India (PressExposure) February 05, 2009 -- DRS Group is putting in place aggressive plans to replicate its success story of starting its packers and movers business with one tempo in 1986 as Agarwal Tempo Transport of India to touching a turnover of Rs 200 crores, 1200 destinations and 825 vehicles. The Hyderabad-based company that has 165 branches across 60 cities in India - dealing in Household movement, Parcel, Transport, 3PPM, Air cargo & Shipping and Education - is planning to expand in third-party Packers and movers. With an aim to achieve a turnover of Rs 1200 crore with 18 Packers and Movers Parks in India of total 4 Million sq ft in India by 2010, the company that is the only âend-to-end service provider in Indiaâ, is expanding with 15 lakh sq.ft additional space in six metros. Itâs the only Indian company with 30,000 movements, annually and plans to cross 75,000 movements by 2010.
The Groupâs âthird party packers and movers serviceâ that started in Hyderabad in 2006, has in a short span of time tied up with prominent clients like Hyundai, Bridgestone, MRF Tyres, Lifestyle â Max Retail, Frigoglass and Norton for Packers and Movers management. Recently, it has also signed Reliance Fresh to provide Packers and Movers in entire North India. With an initial investment of Rs 150 crores in Packers and Movers parks the company owns approx. 3.5 lakh sq.ft warehouse facilities in Hyderabad, Chennai, Gurgaon and Bhiwandi.
Recently they have received Rs 100 crore from Kotak Private Equity to grow tremendously in Packers and Movers in India. Talks are on with several other big-ticket retail players to provide end-to-end solution in terms of all segments in handling Packers and Movers. Mr. A K Agarwal, Marketing Director of DRS Group, said, "The third party Packers and Movers industry today is well placed for rapid growth with several factors like rapid growth in retail, opening of sectors and consistent growth of 8% of economy.
DRS group has aggressive plans to tap this potential and is embarking on massive investment plans of Rs.150 crores in terms of infrastructure building in key centres with a large focus in northern states .We are hopeful that this segment will contribute to major shares in our overall revenues in 2010.â DRS Group is also looking forward to expanding its business in Air Cargo & Shipping. They are planning to sign up with some airlines to plunge into this field. They are on talks with Kingfisher Airlines.
