Krasnoyarsk, Peru (PressExposure) January 31, 2012 -- Aha-Soft updates IconLover, a popular free icon editor. The update targets software developers by adding support for more development environments than ever, including all Microsoft native and .NET development tools, Embarcadero Delphi, Java with Swing or SWT, as well as popular Android and Web development toolkits.
The updated IconLover makes producing icons for popular development environments a one-step process. The new version implements the ability to export icons into a wide range of file formats, color resolutions and pixel sizes that are standard to certain platforms and development environments. In addition to previously supported Windows standard icon sizes, the new release supports hdpi, mdpi and ldpi Android resolutions (48x48, 32x32, and 24x24 pixels) in 32-bit PNG format with alpha-channel. The newly added ability to export 24-bit BMP files with designated 'transparent' color allows many development environments such as Microsoft Visual Studio to implement icons with translucent background where the use of true 32-bit graphics with alpha-channel is technically impossible.
IconLover can now export icons directly into formats and sizes supported by development environments, eliminating the extra steps of downsampling images, reducing the color depth and converting formats. The following combinations are supported: BMP and PNG files in 8-bit, 24-bit, and 32-bit color depths; GIF in 8-bit. All formats can be exported in resolutions of 16x16, 20x20, 24x24, 32x32 and 48x48 pixels. Note that the regular "Save" function can still open and save images of any size, resolution and color depth.
Designed for software and Web developers, IconLover is a perfect free alternative to bigger and bulkier graphic editors. The icon editor implements features and functions that make it easy and convenient to design, create, edit and modify small graphic files such as those used for application icons, toolbars, menus, pop-ups, dialogs and navigation bard. Supporting images of any size, shape and color depth, IconLover is successfully used by Windows, Android, iOS and Web developers for making and editing icons for their favorite developer environments.
