New Delhi, Delhi India (PressExposure) February 22, 2011 -- This strategic alliance will enable both, the universities and institutes, to design varied academic arrangements of mutual interest. It will also provide an accreditation of Bachelor and Master Courses using European standards.
Expressing her views on the tie-up, Mrs. Nisha Berlia, Member Management Board, Apeejay Stya Group said, "We are really delighted to associate with the Netherland Universities. Apeejay Stya Group is a name to reckon with in the Indian education sector with 16 successfully running higher institutions established over the past four decades. The MoU has come at a really crucial time as we are already preparing for the second session of the Apeejay Stya University (ASU). One of our key philosophies is to ensure a global exposure for all Apeejayites and this memorandum is a significant step in that direction. We firmly believe that the goal of imparting holistic education and shaping leaders for tomorrow can only be achieved through increased collaboration, cooperation and engaging in a global dialogue."
As per the present MoU both the Universities and institutes will introduce a string of new programs and courses to inculcate knowledge about Management of Design Processes, conceptual thinking, design methodology and technology and communication strategies, in the international context.
"Indian Design is widely spread but still traditional. Dutch have two reasons to sign this MOU. One is to get more acquainted to Indian Art & Culture as it is now emerging and second to be able to develop together with AID new ways in design from the perspective of two different cultures," said Professor Maarten Regouin, who is representing all the four institutions.
The Dutch Universities will contribute by advising and consulting on educational matters as well as on matters concerning quality assurance, offering workshops and student collaboration projects in New Delhi. in addition they will also extend advise for appointment of Dean of Studies and Manager of Education and Innovation; provide course materials on new courses or study programs to be offered by the AID / ASU in the near future and support them to attain their ambition of accomplishing an accreditation for their Bachelor and Master courses as per European standards.
Absolutely enthralled about the new tie-up, Ms. Reetu Betala, Director Apeejay Institute of Design said, "This MoU is an important milestone, which will allow our students to experience an internationalised curriculum not only within the classroom but also make them more sensitive towards the trends and aspirations of the outside world."
