West Chester, PA (PressExposure) March 16, 2007 -- When people told me that having breast cancer would end up being a "gift", I thought they were crazy! As it turns out...they were right.
One day during the holidays, completely bald from chemotherapy, I decided to make myself something "sparkly" to wear on my head for a party. I wanted to feel a little more feminine, and to possibly distract from my obvious illness. I made myself a bandana with swarovski crystals all over it. I got so many compliments that I kept making them. Now I have started a business called Bella Bandanas. It is for people who want something functional to wear, and yet still feel "sparkly"
When you are going through chemo, and you lose all your hair, you end up feeling ugly, and unfeminine. Many women I know don't even go out because they feel so badly about how they look. It makes me feel so good when someone puts one of my bandanas on, and it helps them feel better about themselves. This is why I started this business.
Bella bandanas are also great for yoga, working out, motorcycle riding, on the beach, by the pool, or going out. They are also a great gift for someone who is sick, it is actually something that they can use, and feel good about wearing.
I give 5% of all my profits to cancer research.
