Sherwood Park, Alberta Canada (PressExposure) May 03, 2011 -- Movie goers will get a glimpse of gas-pumping machine muscles in theaters starting April 29 with the Fast and Furious fifth installment. But those who want to get a taste of the real thing don't only head to the movies - go straight to your Edmonton dodge dealers.
Edmonton Dodge dealerships are proud to know that the Dodge Charger models are basking in the limelight of the newest Fast and Furious movie, with the all new 2011 Dodge Charger joining the roster of road beasts that will lead action-packed car chases.
"Dodge has been the lead character - Dominic Turetto's - brand of choice since the beginning of the Fast and Furious franchise, making our integration in Fast Five very authentic," stated Ralph Gilles , Dodge Brand President/CEO. "It has been a very interesting partnership with Universal that takes product placement and integration to whole new level."
For every Edmonton dodge dealer, racing aficionado, and The Fast and Furious Movie fans, both the cars and the car chases are really worth anticipating.
The Dodge used in the film is now available in Edmonton dodge dealers and Edmonton Chrysler dealers in Canada.
The 2011 Dodge chargers in the movie debuted with a little make over though.
According to Peter Wenham, the Production Designer of the film, the colors of the cars are important because different colors make different impacts. In this case, the Chargers are seen sporting a matte black tint.
"So [we] just decided to make them more matte black," said Wenham, emphasizing the color of the Chargers in the film. "...to make them more brutal and sort of masculine... and we made them fearsome as well."
The matte black versions of the 2011 Charger model in the movie are not available to the public yet, but other tints for the 2011 Chargers are very much available starting this month in Edmonton dodge dealerships and Edmonton Chrysler dealers.
Explaining why the Dodge Chargers are the perfect cars for the movie, Dodge CEO Ralph Gilles described it as an even more sinister, more powerful beast than its predecessor.
"So with 2011, what we did we the new car is kind of make it more pissed off," exclaimed Gilles. "Sort of angrier and a little bit more committed so to speak. It has that 'street presence as we call it... It's a lot easier to drive, it feels lighter. The steering actually has electro-hydraulic steering... The car is slicker, probably leaner, but it's as mean as ever."
"Going down the road, this will have one of the most distinctive back ends out there. We have 160 LEDS that make the perimeter. Which is unheard of," added the confident Dodge CEO.
If the movie does not convince you, the real thing will.
"This car has more power than any other car in the market," affirmed Vin Diesel, the lead actor in the Fast and the Furious 5 movie.
The 2011 Dodge Charger is now available for test drive at the nearest Edmonton dodge dealer.
