Center for Women Chooses Design by Local Artist for Cancer Logo

Charleston, SC (PressExposure) September 08, 2008 -- Everyday kindness affords artist an opportunity to have her work count in ways she could not imagine before. The opportunity to use the image came quite by coincidence.

L. Jaye Bell happened to be the last one in the "Marketing and Your Website" seminar at the Center for Women one evening. As director Jennett Altermann was closing up the building, she shared with L. Jaye about her friend who was dying of cancer.

L. Jaye went home and created two of her hand made cards for Jennett and Terry. She personalized each of them in her distinctive calligraphy. She enclosed Terry's in with Jennett's and mailed them to the Center for Women.

Terry's card had an image of an angel with a heart over her pelvic section. As soon as Altermann saw the card, she was motivated to ask if Bell would donate the image as a part of the program.

Terry's story is located on the Center for Women website. Her story is a common one with Ovarian Cancer. It's important to learn the symptoms of OC and the methods of treatment and prevention. The Center for Women is actively involved in creating opportunities to raise awareness for Ovarian Cancer in this campaign.

Ms. Bell is honored to have had her image chosen for this campaign.
